Testing New Beta Comment Guard Plugin - Please Help
I”ve just uploaded Angsuman’s Beta Comment Guard Plugin that offers to block spam comments without creating any fuss, and more importantly without creating any load on a server’s CPU or bandwidth like SK2, or without relying on querying external databases like Akismet.
I have a major spam problem on this site so it’ll be a good testing ground for this plugin. If you have any problems posting any comments over the next couple of days please let me know (via the forum if you can’t comment!). Or, you could just try and leave test comments on this thread.
Thanks
Update: It’s looking good so for and I’ve disabled four plugins as a result of the new Comment Guard Plugin, which has got to be good for my server: Angsuman’s Referrer Bouncer, Math Comment Spam Protection, Simple Trackback Validation and Spam Karma 2. To see how effective this plugin is, I’ve added some stats at the bottom of my sidebar.

I’ve temporarily disabled it as something’s not quite right - will investigate when I have time to play with it

ok. It’s back on. So far so good no spam has got through, but there’s no way of telling if it’s creating false positives
