Feedburner Launch Geo-Targeted Ads
I’m part of the Feedburner FAN network that serves ads both in my feed and on my site. Earlier this week I had a very strange ad to review that was in Russian (pictured below), which seemed a bit strange as of course nearly all of my readers speak English.
Today I got an explanation from Feedburner. For the last 6 weeks Feedburner have been able to geo-target their ads. Once the advertiser selects the regions where they want to advertise, then only people in those regions will see the ads.

At the moment the Publisher admin panel doesn’t say whether or not a new campaign is geo-targeted or not, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be pretty obvious if more ads appear that are in is Russian!
I think it’s a nice feature to be able to offer advertisers, but it will only be useful if Feedburner are able to attract or reach more international advertisers as a result. What would really be useful is if user’s could choose what language to receive the feed in. Now that would be a fantastic feature.
What features would you like to see Feedburner add to its FAN network or to its core Feed burning service?
