Vista Successor ‘Vienna’ Planned for Late 2009
Whilst speaking to PCWorld, Ben Fathi, the executive in charge of the OS’s core components, said that ‘Vienna’ a whole new OS not a service pack for Vista, will be released in late 2009.
If this is true, I’m very confused. Vista isn’t going to be widely used until late 2008/early 2009, so why would Microsoft be bringing out another version?
I doubt that Microsoft are even capable of writing a new OS in under 3 years. I think somewhere along the way something Ben said has been misrepresented.
What do you think? Is Vienna going to replace Vista in 2009?
