Suggestions For TypoXP Reloaded Next Release

I’m currently working on the next release of my popular TypoXP Reloaded theme. If you are one of the 2,300 people using TypoXP Reloaded can you please let me know what new features you would like to see please.

I’m still stunned by the interest in my theme. It was the most popular theme for it’s first week, but then it dropped to number 7 thanks to two users giving it 3 and 4 out of 5 respectively. Hopefully, I’ll get a few more 5s so that it won’t drop out of the top 10.

One common request is for an options page. I’d love to add this as editing the adsense ads seems to be a common problem, but I need to see how hard that will be as I’m still learning! If I can crack this I’ll be able to add in more features from my own site, which I removed as they would remove too much template editing.

The next release (1.2) will include:

  • ‘Bulletproof’ so easier to tweak and update
  • Better SEO. I’ve made some crucial changes to my site since the core theme files were first created
  • Better RSS subscription integration
  • New header navigation - need to find a way to allow users to create their own tabs easily (options page?)
  • Improved site navigation -less noise and improved post layout
  • Some minor CSS changes that have made a big difference to my CTR

I’m also hoping to include a more funkier stylesheet as an option, with a working title of TypoXP Reloaded ‘X’, which can be seen on my new site, Windows 7 News. This site doesn’t have any posts yet, so I’ve convinced Tony to test it on One Tip A Day so I can see what it looks like on a real blog.

    Hi Gaurav

    I was going to package up ‘X’ earlier this month and release it, but then WP viewer banned sponsored themes so I put my tools down, as I couldn’t see the point as I wouldn’t have a way to distribute it…..

    Guru i’ve already suggested you about what enhancment your theme readly needs. I just saw a website i think possibly created by you,
    http://www.onetipaday.com. It simply rocks. My eyes were glued on it for an hour on my TFT.

    But one disappointment. It has been months you still haven’t released your
    TypoXP Reloaded X theme. Please release it as soonas possible. I visit your site regulary specially in your projects section but nope i still see old version and not TypoXP Reloaded X theme. :(

    Can I get a change to test your X theme ? I would be delighted.

    Thanks Gaurav - a lot of good points in there. I’m hoping to do a release next month. I’m just tinkering with my version, and then I’ll work on the public version.
