Sony Europe announced yesterday that in addition to Europe getting limited supplies of Playstation 3s, that in order to reduce costs the European PS3 will have less backwards compatibility because they will be removing some parts to remove costs.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this as not only will the PS3 cost over 30% more than its US equivalent, it will now also have a ‘lower’ spec. To make matters worse, Sony have threatened to sue anyone they catch who works out they are being ripped off and tries to import a PS3.
I’m so glad I’m not getting a PS3. I’ll just stick to my trusty Xbox 360.
