How To Create RSS Alerts For When Your Site Gets Dugg

Although many of us dream of getting on the homepage of Digg.com, unfortunately the deluge of traffic can be enough to cripple most servers. Luckily The How To Geek blog has come up with a very simple way to setup RSS alerts for when your site has been dugg, so at least you can start preparing your site for the worst by disabling anything on your server that isn’t necessary that might free up some resources.

First, go to the Digg Search page at http://digg.com/search and type in the base URL to your site into the search form:

Make sure that you’ve selected ”URL Only”, and “Upcoming Stories”. Leave the other options as default. Now hit the search button. Below the results you should see an RSS icon and if you subscribe to this feed your RSS reader will let you know when you have been dugg.
