How Will SpotPlex Drive Traffic To Small Bloggers?
I’ve just read about Spotplex a new news aggregator that TechCrunch seem to think has the potential to be better than Digg, as it can’t be abused by users.
Spotplex decides which stories to put on its homepage based on which stories are read the most. It tracks reads by getting sites to add code to their site that reports back how many times a post has been read.
I just can’t see how this will allow the average site or blog to hit the homepage as the uberblogs will dominate page views so they will always get on the homepage, over and over again. Spotplex say that once they end their beta they will continuously tweak their algorithm to ensure everyone gets a fair crack.
You know me, I’ll do anything for more traffic so even though I’m sceptical, I’ve still fired off an email to signup@spotplex.com as apparently the first 1000 sites to do so will get included in the beta.

I got my SpotPlex invite yesterday and it’s been live for a few hours so far. Adding the code was simple. All I had to do was choose what categories were relevant to my site, and then add the generated code to my site like any other blogging ba…

Thanks Everton, looks like I missed a few days of Techcrunch. Sounds cool, I just fired off an email for our site too.
Didn’t see much there yet for Dating / Relationships so this should be fun.
Have an awesome day!

Don’t forget to add yourself to my directory. So far the only dating submission I’ve had is the one below which I had to reject:

Cute.
Thanks Everton, just submitted it. Our site is a Dating / Relationship / Love / Sex advice column, so had a tough time deciding between Relationships and Sexuality.
Can’t wait for the blog pimping!!!! We’re just a few spots behind Paul Stomatiou.
It’s been a good week or so for linkbacks, reviews, and such. We actually got inteviewed by Nneka from the Balanced Life Center (great site on spirituality) just over a week ago - focusing on the spiritual aspects of the site and our message. Here’s the link - feel free to edit it out if you prefer:

And the next day we got a great review J.R.’s Seeds for Wealth (again, feel free to edit it out the link if you prefer): http://seedsforwealth.com/Blog/top-blogger-roll-call-ask-dan-and-jennifer/
Thanks for all the great content you share by the way, I found this site through eMom Wendy Piersall’s site some weeks back and have been coming back regularly.
Have an awesome day!
