Sponsor My TypXP Reloaded WordPress Theme

I read a post on Dosh Dosh a few days about sponsoring WordPress themes. Maki quite rightly pointed out that:

As the WordPress theme gets released, promoted and downloaded by other users, the link to your website (which you paid for) will show up on other WordPress blogs. As everyone knows, WordPress themes are notorious for their ability to send massive amounts of links back to the theme designer’s website.

Until I read this post I hadn’t considered selling sponsorship on my TypoXP Reloaded theme which is one of the most popular WordPress themes (it’s the most popular as the other links above mine tend to disappear within 24 hours once someone other than the theme author rates them).

So I’ve decided to offer two monthly sponsorship slots on my TypoXP Reloaded WordPress theme. These will be served 50% of the time each using Openads. My theme is being downloaded roughly 1000 times a week, so every month there will be up to an additional 4000 sites displaying a link to your site. That’s a huge amount of links which will significantly improve the number of backlinks for the lucky auction winners.

As a free bonus, I’ve even added the code to my site so you will also be getting a link from every one of my pages.

Daniel has very kindly added the auction to Digital Point, which closes in 7 days. The bidding starts at $25pm Update: Bid is now at $40 per link, which I think is exceptional value, particularly as a text-link on this site alone currently costs $150. I can’t think of any other way to get a link on thousands of sites, including some PR3+ sites for such a low price. Discounts are also available for bulk purchases (set once the final price agreed).

To submit your bid then click here. If you can’t post on Digital Point then leave your bid in a comment below. Don’t worry, if you miss out this month as hopefully slots will open up in the future.

Good to see you have it up on DP. I think some of them might be a little confused about the whole process. I think it’s the first time any theme designer has sold sponsored links on a monthly basis, not to mention on a rotating 50% scheme. :)

yeah I think the 50% was a bad idea now. The problem is I think the previous model was based on people churning out themes every couple of days and selling links.
I’m actually offering genuine sponsorship opportunity which is generating 1000 new links every week. Someone will get it.

ya, I’m quite interested in sponsoring a link on your theme. Get ahold of me so we can set this up.

I would be very interested in the sponsorship offer. I think WP has great potential. Contact me on my private email.

    Just wondering,
how can you say that TypoXP is yours (I said this, because now you didn’t put original author from your theme). You’ve only modified the theme.

And now you have a sponsor, and didn’t give anything to my friend who has the original idea of TypoXP.

TypoXP Reloaded is my theme and I wouldn’t say I’ve ‘only’ modified the theme as there are a lot of modifications!

And in the downloadable version it does give credit to the creator of the original template.

I note there hasn’t been much activity on this item for a while now. I think the idea is good, although I’m not so sure I like the percentage schema … I’d rather buy for a month or 2 weeks or some fixed period of time.

But I do think your merchandising of the idea is poor. Why would I want to go to DP and fiddle around to find an auction and then fiddle around with that in order to spend my money … I have no time!

I’ll go look right now on your advertising page but mercy me, why isn’t there a big “Order Here” button in view … impulse buying is the way of the ‘Net

And Evertron … please lose that annoying, space-wasting “thing” sliding up and down the left of my screen … it’s very distracting and draws people’s attention away from content (and ads).
