Which Company Would You Like To Work For?
Google is regularly listed as the best place to work, which isn’t surprising when you read stories like this one. Google now ferries about 1,200 employees to and from Google daily aboard 32 shuttle buses equipped with comfortable leather seats and wireless Internet access.
This is in addition to the climbing wall, a volleyball court, pools, On-site car washes, oil changes and haircuts. Yes, it’s a hard life working at Google.

I have to admit it’s been a treat whenever I’ve had to go to the Google offices in London for meetings, and I’d love to work there everyday. But, Google is notoriously hard to get into. Their recruitment appears to be very haphazard, and if you do make it through roughly a dozen interviews that can take months to be arranged every hire has to be approved by Sergey. I’m not quite sure how that stage works.
If I could chose who I worked for, Google would definitely be in my top 3. Who would you pick? Are you already there?

I’ve often said - and am completely serious - that I’d sweep floors just to get to work at Pixar.

It sounds like it’s one hell of a recruitment process to work for Google, but more than worthwhile, you just know that you would enjoy your job and actually look forward to going to work.

One of mates wanted at Uni only wanted to work for Smash Hits Magazine. When he sent in his application, they sent back the following reply:
“Thank you very much for your interest in working for smash hits. Unfortunately we can’t employ you just now, but here are things you can do to help. Number 1, do well in your GCSEs…..”
That was so funny considering you take GCSEs at 16 and he was 21 just about to finish at Cambridge! He did manage to get an interview a year later and he showed them the letter and they were so embarassed for not even reading his first application.
He got in btw

Google would definitely be on my top 3 list. The other two would be CNet and EA Sports.
Comment by Everton on 12 March 2007:
Very different companies. Why CNet?
