Pimp My Blog Week 11: AskDanAndJennifer.com

I’ve been looking forward to this week’s Pimp for a while. This week on Pimp My Blog we have AskDanAndJennifer.com from Dan and Jennifer. This should come as a surprise to them as there were about 6 sites in front of them, but none of these were active on the blog or the forum, so they weren’t eligible.

If you’ve visited Dan And Jennifer’s blog before then you will know that it’s a dating and relationships blog, rather than a tech blog. But, the same basic principles still apply.

Dan and Jennifer have asked for help with:

Increase traffic to 10,000 hits per day
Improve site stickiness - page views per visitor from 1.8 to 3+
Increase site revenue from adsense and affiliate products - without adding more clutter to the site

Ok, letâ€™s get pimping! Remember - please submit all ideas in this thread.

Congratulations D&J. You deserve some pimping and primping! I’ll go take a look at your site with a more critical (constructively) eye and come on back later with some thoughts.

The one comment I would make before diving too deep is about the design, and especially the header with your photographs. It’s a tough call, because it’s such a great expression of your connection. But that is prime, above the fold, territory you could be using for advertising or directing folks to other important areas on your site(s). I wonder if it would be possible to create the same site feel while minimizing the space taken up by those photos.

(This is up for me right now, because I’m considering the same issue on my blog).

I’ll see what else I can come up later.
