P2P Lender Zopa Raises $13m To Fund US Expansion

I just read on Read/WriteWeb that UK-based P2P lender Zopa has just raised $13m to fund expanding into the US. I’m really chuffed about this as one of my old colleagues from my first job David is one of the co-founders and it’s always good to see one of the old gang doing well. Hopefully he’s still not doing PowerPoint slides at 4am in the morning!
If you haven’t come across Zopa before it brings together individuals with money to lend with those who want to borrow money. The beauty of the system is that rates for borrowers and lenders are much better than typical high street rates and the terms are more flexible, and Zopa ensure that the matching process is done safely and securely.
