Porn Popup Teacher Julie Amero To Be Sentenced On Thursday

It’ll be interesting to see what sentence ‘porn popup’ teacher Julie Amero receives on Thursday when she is sentenced, as she’s currently facing a potential 40 year sentence. If you missed this case last month, Julie is a substitute teacher who was covering for another teacher. The computer that she was using started to display tonnes of porn popups which were seen by the kids in Julie’s class, and Julie was convicted of exposing the kiddies to porn.

The prosecution claimed that the popups were a result of Julie surfing porn sites, whereas Julie’s defence team claimed that the PC was infected with spyware and Julie didn’t know how to stop it.

I’m not sure which side is right, but the judge obviously sided with the prosecution. However, I do believe it is feasible to believe that Julie is telling the truth and it has emerged that some of the evidence used against her wasn’t very good. For instance, a prosecution expert only looked at her web browser history and concluded that she must have visited all of the porn sites, without actually performing a spyware scan of the PC.

Have you been following this case? What’s your verdict – was Julie Amero guilty or innocent?

  • Unbelievable! Whatever next!
  • I don't think that she is guilty. When you open one page is possible that she could be infected with a virus. That virus could be the reason of what happened in that class.
  • Yeah. I also agree with 0batgurl0. I believe she didn't do it intentionally. A simple scan of spyware could help her. I bet those prosecution experts have never seen porn once in their life..

i think that even if she did visit the sites she wouldnt show it to the kids on purpose and a 40 year sentence is very harsh concidering that the popps were not intentional

Surprising that tech experts haven't popped up in their millions to claim spyware...
  • It seems unintentional. I agree, a simple scan would have shown if it was infected or not. I think she's innocent.
  • I firmly believe that she didn't do it intentionally. It maybe a spyware, adware or whatever. She might be innocent
  • I can say no more about this Porn Popup ;)
