Most definitely true. I think the more we continue collectively to encourage our readers to install the Alexa toolbar and Firefox extension the more we will all benefit, as we share a lot of readers.

You should throw up a post Thilak to tap directly into your own readers.

I think right now it’s really a question of which came first. Did I start seeing a growth in traffic and thus my Alexa rank started to climb or did I affect my Alexa rank and as a result traffic started to increase in kind.

Increasing Alexa rank won’t lead to more traffic.

As I’ve said, I’ve seen some pretty decent growth with my traffic. In two weeks my rating has climbed and, interestingly, so has my traffic.

I think right now it’s really a question of which came first. Did I start seeing a growth in traffic and thus my Alexa rank started to climb or did I affect my Alexa rank and as a result traffic started to increase in kind.

This week I’ll be writing about the experiment and encouraging my readers to both add the toolbars and also check out their own results. I’ll definitely send them back to the original post here as well!

I’m kind of surprised at the result but am very enthused. Right now I’m averaging around 200 visitors a day – that’s almost double since the beginning of the experiment. I’m curious to see how it grows from here.

Definitely interested to see if the trend continues or stabilises / drops off. I think I’ll install the toolbars on my family’s computers now – as I end up doing everyones technical support in any case and so this can be my payment in kind :-)

Your rank has improved or got worse? The reason I started the experiment is because of how inaccurate the Alexa system is. Unfortunately you can’t ignore it though as advertisers use the data.

I have used one of the 4 techniques you wrote about and I have had good results too :)

BTW, I miss a link at the end of this sentence “To take part in the experiment and to try and Increase Alexa Rank then read this post ” ;)
