BlackBerry 8800: The BIG BlackBerry Pearl
With similar look, casing and trackball style d-pad as its smaller counterpart, the Pearl, the BlackBerry 8800 looks like a BIG BlackBerry Pearl.
The BlackBerry 8800 has kept the push email with attachments, Bluetooth, push-to-talk and PIM functions but has added some new features like a built-n GPS with TeleNav support, a microSD card slot and a longer lasting battery.
Intended mainly for the business world, the BlackBerry 8800 does not have a camera on it so, your high school children may not love the 8800 as much as your typical corporate person would.
The BlackBerry 8800, a quad-band GSM world phone, currently runs on Cingular/AT&T’s network and utilizes EDGE for data. With it’s sleek design, push email with attachments, filter and searching functions, software, PIM (and desktop) syncing, a longer battery life and support for a 312MHz processor and GPS, the only potential drawback of the BlackBerry 8800 that I can see is that it does not yet have 3G support.
They are currently priced at $299.99 with with a new Cingular Wireless Voice & Data Plan and $499.99 without a new plan. I want one! Does anyone have one? You like it? You don’t like it?

Someday… one of these shall be mine… until then my N73 shall suffice

Yeah, Ajay, me too. At this point, I can’t justify spending that much, I need some kind of $100 rebate or something. Your Nokia’s not too shabby, though. I looked at those this past December- got some great features, messaging, browser, bluetooth, uses EDGE, too. How do you find the battery life to be? I settled with a Motorola Q and it’s battery is horrible. I have to charge it everyday or else it dies on me. There’s actually a lot of cool phones that I want as of now, maybe I’ll be upgrading real soon.

I would take the BB any day instead of the nokia, the nokia with s60 is too slow…
Anyway have used both with my favourite mobile gps navigation software, Wisepilot (www.wisepilot.com) and they both works fine even though with the bb 8800 there is the integrated GPS which improves the experience a lot!!
