Friday Fun: Halo 3 Multiplayer Footage

I’ve had this video showing some Halo 3 multiplayer footage sitting in my saved items for a while. I was stunned by the speed of the footage and I’m getting so excited about this game. I can quite easily see myself taking a day off work on Halo 3 launch day just to play.

The shots in the video of Halo 3 testers all in a big room reminded me of one of my best days of gaming ever. I was in my final year at Uni and we’d just worked out how to connect two PCs via serial link to play Doom 2.  As we were walking into College one morning for breakfast there were some engineers setting up some Sun workstations with 20″ monitors, very rare in 1994, for a sales conference. Two of the Sun workstations were playing Doom 2 and we asked the engineers how many could they network up, and they said up to 8. The engineers then said if we came over early the next day, they would hook up 8 machines for us to play Doom 2!
