My Nokia N95 Arrived - No One Told Me How Light It Would Be

Nokia N95 SliderMy Nokia N95 finally arrived yesterday. I hadn’t actually seen a Nokia N95 in the flesh before, so I was surprised by how good the build quality is. What really surprised me, which I hadn’t read in any of the reviews is how light the Nokia N95 is. It’s so light that when you pick it up it feels like the battery isn’t in.

I wanted to get a graphite N95 as I’m getting a bit tired of the silver Nokia look (my last 3 phones have been a Nokia 6630, Nokia 6680 and a Nokia N80), but I love how the purple back on my N95 sets off the silver front.

The attention to detail is astounding. Even the numeric keypad is slightly curved inwards to make the buttons ‘bigger’.

I think I’m going to be very happy with this phone, and I will be putting my Dell X51V, Tom Tom Navigator and also my cameraphone on eBay as I don’t need them anymore now I have the Nokia N95 (I’ll be keeping my video iPod though).

I was surprised by the pricing of the maps function, as I was expecting a monthly subscription based on the (mainly US) reviews. In the UK it’s only £40 for a 1 year licence, or £47 for a 3 year licence. I’ve purchased a 3 year licence as the pricing made sense, although I’ll have wasted the £7 if I’m not allowed to transfer my subscription to my next handset as despite my growing admiration for my Nokia N95, I can’t see myself using it in 3 years time.

    Oy Mate,
    I ‘m absolutely envy you. ^^
I was thinking to get one too. But for now it is too expensive for me, I might get an IPhone first then get N95 Later. Let me know if you have encountered the prolem in N95. I really need to know the bad side of it. Thanks ^^

I’m glad that the battery life hasn’t been an issue for you yet, it will be interesting to hear how that pans out when you are using your chosen features on a day to day basis.

Reading with interest on this one!

Although, I’ve got the Orange E650 on it’s way to me right now, so shall see how that performs for me as an upgrade from the C500.
