Yes, they are the main subscribers to the billions of text messages sent out there - but i think that teenagers are more likely to absorb the whole new touch-screen function compared to us "oldies" who are more than happy to stick with what we know (mind you, im only in my 20's) - the good ol' tangible keypad. Plus, attach an "i" to anything, and all of a sudden, it's "so way cooler".

However! Upon searching for the official iPhone ad, I found a Stanley Kubrick film, circa 1968 (2001: A space Odyssey) being used to market this cute, multi-functioning little gadget (probably by a fan). Once you see it, you'll notice that it should really appeal to most audiences (ok, maybe not the crippling-aged). Yes, the movie is old, but the gist is quite young. It doesn't surprise me that this many teens have responded the way they have.

I like both N95 and iPhone, but wouldn't go for N95 as it cost up to RM3000 in Malaysia, more or less in $1000, which is a lot to a 16 years old. iPhone is cheaper and I really like the touch screen thing. Looks cool and the demo video made me feel I'm definitely going for one (if I have the money). When it's out, I'll see reviews of it before buying.

Nokia need to pull their finger out and make a phone that appeals to the kiddies. My N95 is amazing - all they need to do is rip out the GPS and add more storage and they'd have an iPhone beater. Oh, and it's a cracking phone as well (and a 5MP camera, and it's got 3G, browser, Symbian -the list goes on)

I think simply put, these people will be those who value "style" over "function".

I've not seen or read anything that would compel me to even considerable getting one, like you say just get a 'proper' phone which will do it's job much better - touchscreens alone can be a dodgy thing to actually use out in the real world with the sun shining etc.

You can't fault Apple's marketing on this, it'll sell shedloads on the name alone!
