List Of Blogger Salaries – Who’s The Top Earner?

Paula Mooney has put a lot of effort into creating a post that lists how much some of the top bloggers and webmasters make from their sites. She has tracked down a lot of information, and she even included some non-English sites by using Babelfish to translate their earnings.

At the top of the list is Markus Frind with an estimated annual income of $3.7m. In any industry that is a very big salary. I’m not sure if Markus should be on the site as PlentyOfFish looks more like an ECommerce site than a personal site.

Other people that have made it onto the list include Jason Calacanis (not sure about this one either), Al from Self Made Minds, John Chow and Shawn D Hogan from DigitalPoint. Surprising, yours truly is on the list coming in at number 20.

I think it’s a shame her post hasn’t got more coverage – I only saw it because I got an alert from Google as she didn’t leave a pingback or trackback. As with many of these studies, there are probably a lot of sites missing, but you have to give Paula credit for pulling together a list this size.

  • I'm trying to make money using Adsense but it is very hard.
  • My wife has promised me that I can quit my job when I earn $100,00 a year from blogging. Only $99,992,62 to go.

Thank you for blogging about this Everton. A really interesting article and I agree with you. I don't think plentyoffish belongs on the list.
  • Hmmm yeah Everton, there`re a lot of bloggers are missing in that list, e.g. liewcf.com?!
  • I'm not so sure about JohnTP. He has a lot of active readers who leave a lot of comments, but I don't think adsense earnings are proportional.
  • Wow great article....according to this, there is definitely got to be a lot of people off of this list, right? Where's JohnTP.com? He's gotta be on there right?
  • I agree plentyoffish seems quite a basis site. How can such a site make sooo much?
  • kerala
Thanks for the list. congratulations too.
  • What is the £60m based on? If it's the 'valuation' of Digg I would probably dispute that as a property is only worth what people are willing to pay for it, and I don't think there are many companies who would want to buy Digg even despite it's high usage, because of the nature of Digg's users.

If it's based on earnings, again I'd be surprised if Digg make this much as I reckon it's earnings are relatively low as I don't imagine Digg users click on a lot of ads
  • 3.7 is not insane at all. If that call insane, what about Kevin Rose who earn 60.0 m in 18 months? :)
  • Wow, 3.7m is insane! I better step up my blogging. And, congrats to you for making the top 20!! :)
