Sony Playstation have announced that SOCOM Confrontation for the PS3 will be launched in November. The game will be online only allowing up to 32 people to play at the same time. Gamers will be able to form clans, and battle for world domination online.
SOCOM was one of the few games I really got into on my PS2 before I gave it away, and I’m really looking forward to the release. I did however, have one of my most embarrassing moments at work thanks to SOCOM. I was doing my first presentation on what console gaming was and how we going to support Sony and Microsoft Xbox, to my CEO, CTO, Managing Director, Strategy Director…basically all the top brass.
I’d finished the slides and I began the live ‘demo’ on SOCOM. I spent a few mins moving around the bunker to show the team how the game was setup, and then I said I was now going to leave the bunker and engage the enemy. Literally the second I popped my head out of the bunker I took a head shot and an instant kill. Everyone burst out laughing, and the MD asked ‘If I’d played this game before??!!’
