Fix For quicktags.js Problems With WordPress 2.2

One of the problems I had when I upgraded to WordPress 2.2 was that my comments quicktags caused problems and pushed my sidebar down under the main content, so I had to disable the plugin.

Luckily Ibrahim came to the rescue and his fix worked first time. Ibrahim had the same problem and he fixed it by making changes to the quicktags.js file, and creating a new file quicktags1.js and placing it in the /wp-includes/js folder, and also replacing the Comment Quicktags plugin with the modified version in the attached zip.

Now, we’re not sure if this fix will help with other WordPress 2.2 errors, but the good thing is we haven’t touched the original quicktags.js file, so it will be easy to roll changes back.

Thanks for the fix. I’ve been waiting for redalt.com’s quicktag page to get online again, but as of writing this, it is still down.

Your fix solved my problem - Thanks!

I have just received more than 20 *identical* emails about updates on this page… And I just couldn’t find any “unsubscribe to comments” link on your page. The emails I got didn’t really make sense either:

    Hi MG

Sorry, my server died and when it went back up the Comment Relish plugin went mad and started sending mad emails. they should stop soon if not already. You must have left a comment in the past.

    More here.

Hope to see you again soon.

    Regards

    EB
