I just spotted an interesting story on gadgetell, which is my new site discovery of the month – definitely a site worth subscribing to. The featured story tells how mountaineer Rod Baber reached the summit of and actually managed to make a mobile call.
Admittedly, it was all part of a Motorola marketing stunt, but it makes me wonder that if they can organise coverage at 30,000 feet, then why can’t they organise decent coverage in my little flat in London?
According to gadgetell, climbers can only spend 15 minutes on the actual summit of Everest. Does anyone know why? Seems a bit of a shame working so hard to reach the summit, and not even having time to take in the view!
