How To Market Your Website For Only $100
Every-time I look into spending some money promoting my site, I always end up putting my chequebook away. I have tried a few experiments like buying text-link-ads to take advantage of the $100 in free links, but never anything major like creating adwords campaigns.
If you are on a tight budget then this may be a good post to read. SEOish asked 7 Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) experts:
“What would you do, if you only had $100 to spend on marketing a website?”
Some of the responses are quite interesting and witty. Common themes though seem to be invest in good hosting and just concentrate on writing good content. I kind of agree with these sentiments, but I’m really struggling to work out what to do next to break through to the next level, once you’ve established a decent amount of traffic like this blog.
Have you got any tips for me, or for any budding bloggers who are just starting out? What has worked well for you in the past? Did you put your hands in your own pockets and splash out some cash?

Man, I hope the previous post is in moderation and its not lost. I’ve hit the Enter button by mistake (at least I think I hit the Enter button).
What I was going to say is that you put the subscription options in the way of the Stumblers, and if the content is good, $100 can buy you a good number of subscribers probably.

Well, guess it wasn’t in moderation and I’ve lost it.
What I was saying is that $100 can buy you 2000 people visiting your site from StumbleUpon by advertising with them. Those people will click the “I like it” button in the toolbar if you do it right and the content is good. So the number of people actually visiting your site should be bigger then just 2000. Put the RSS feed and the Email subscription in the way of the Stumblers and you have a good chance to gain some regular readers (hopefully). I didn’t actually test this but I’ve read others that said it worked for them.

$100 would be enough to kick over some sales on a specific affiliate offer that you ran on a site or blog - that would give you a bit of profit to reinvest.
Stumbleupon traffic is reasonable quality if you want long term readers too.

@Everton: Blogging is a business , So if somebody is planning just to make prodcut and think that they will sell it. I would say stop the production. If you have a product you need to advertise about it and in short you need to market it. Same goes for blogs. If you have good article which is worth , send emails to good bloggers and aks them to see it. They might link it. If you want to know more read the blogs which talk about business. You can find small small strategy which you can apply here too.
