Poll: How Much Do You Make From Text Link Ads?
Time for another poll. This time the question is ‘How Much Do You Make From Text Link Ads?’ Just monthly numbers please and include any revenue from Post Level Ads.
Personally I’m doing quite well from Text Link Ads, which now account for about 1/8 of my online income which I’m very happy with. I’ve also taken advantage of the $100 in free links promotion, which made sense as I only had to spend $50 to get $150 worth of links.
I think that this promotion makes even more sense now that Text Link Ads have launched Post Level Ads, which allow you to really target which sites and pages you get a link from. Although, I don’t think as a publisher Post Level Ads are attractive, as an advertiser I think they offer great value, particularly if you take advantage of the $100 offer.
The pricing for Post Level Ads is as follows:
- PageRank 2 - $5.00
- PageRank 3 - $6.00
- PageRank 4 - $8.00
- PageRank 5 - $10.00
- PageRank 6 - $25.00
- PageRank 7 - $50.00
So, armed with $100 in Free Links you could buy 15 links on PR5 posts for a real outlay of only $50. More importantly these will be on 15 different sites, rather than on the same site, which I think will be more valuable than buying one site-wide link on a PR5 site.

Can anybody help me out with this? I’ve got one post level ad. I can’t seem to get any offers for a permanent link on my sidebar.

Hey Everton,
Great stuff, I’m quite glad we signed up with them when we did. We consistently make over $500/month with them these days, and with basically no effort. THIS qualifies as passive income - talk about Blog Monetization Zen.
Yes, they keep 50%, but fact is that’s the cost of being in their catalog of links that people to go IN ORDER TO BUY LINKS. If you’re not there, they’ll buy links on another site.
One mistake many people make (I think) is to leave a very low price for their blogs. Of course, don’t set it too high… just value yourself “right”.
We’re already up to $570 this month - and it’s only the 19th.
Have an awesome day!

You guys always talk about adjusting your price of TLA. Mine was set by them. Do I have to change my approval setting in order to adjust my price?
Comment by Dan and Jennifer on 19 June 2007:
Hey Listikal,
Lots of people change their TLA prices to something they consider more representative of the value of their blog. ReviewMe (their sister company) already has an option to change your price online (as of a few months ago), and it’s likely TLA will eventually as well.
Every business transaction has to be agreeable and attractive to both parties. If you don’t like what you have now, email them and ask for a different price.
Good luck!!!
Have an awesome day!

@listikal
you have to email TLA to get your prices changed

Thanks guys, I’m somewhat frustrated with TLA right now just due to the fact that I wasn’t even in their catalog for appoxiamately six months without any notice. They finally got me back in at $30/month, but I’m still waiting for my first offer.
I’m getting reasonable traffic, but I think I just need my PR to just get that extra boost.

doublecheck what categories you are listed in. For instance, I do very well in .co.uk

Wow, I really didn’t think people made money off this stuff. I have been doing a little reading on it now and it looks like some do.
I have thought about putting ad sense on my blog but really my blog doesn’t get all that many hits. I get around 100 on a slow day and as many as 900+ on a good day but I know that’s not a lot compared to some real sites.
Thanks for posting about this though. It is informational!

TLA have been a much better performer for me than AdCents or whatever it’s called…The great thing about it is that it’s confirmed money in the bank regardless of impressions, clicks, etc.
My only concern is how their model fits in with Google’s policy on paid links. I’ve emailed their support team and am waiting on a response.

I have also been considering using TLA for a while, but I was not sure if I could make any money due to my low PR. I have been working on increasing it.

$60′ish as of today.
