YouTube Mobile: Launched

Here is a happy news for YouTube fans, now your favourite video site is now available anywhere.
YouTube quietly launched a new mobile portal m.youtube.com over the weekend. This move means the end of an exclusive mobile content partnership between parent firm Google and Verizon Wireless.
The new YouTube Mobile offers only a small selection of video clips, with categories including Featured, Recently Added, Most Viewed, Top Rated, Top Favorites, Entertainment and People. Video files are streamed rather than downloaded.

A warning on the portal reads:

Information: YouTube Mobile is a data intensive application. We highly recommend that you upgrade to an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges.

So, get ready to upgrade your plan if you are still on limited bandwidth plan.
If you have tried it already, let us know your experience in terms of quality and the content!

    Heh that was funny.

Looks good but it’s not really pratical for mobiles unless you got unlimited data transfer and or a decent speed at to stream. I guess it’s just another feature for youtube.

I did try it yesterday. But on my EDGE connection, the RealMedia Player does not even connect to the media source. 3G and Unlimited Data Plan is a Must for this.
