RIAA Harasses 10 Year Old Girl
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a good story about the Recording Industry Ass. Of America (RIAA). If ever there was a body in need of a public makeover, it’s the RIAA.
The latest story shows just how far the RIAA is prepared to go to convict individuals. In a case against Tanya Anderson, an unemployed single mom, they called her 10-year old daughter at school pretending to be the girl’s grandmother, to try and trick the poor lass into rating out her mother.
The RIAA didn’t stop there. Later, they threatened to “interrogate and confront her little girl at the offices of the RIAA lawyers,” if Ms Anderson didn’t abandon all her legal rights in any possible countersuit. To read the full story click here.
If only the RIAA would put as much effort into creating a fair system for consumers to access music online as into persecuting individuals and scaring 10 year olds….

Yeah, the RIAA really has a bad image in the public eye, for stuff just like this. It seems just when we forget about them for a second, they charge back with some other great bit of press. I think unfortunately though, they hvae so much money that they don’t worry about such tactics.

Fools. A 10-year-old isn’t emotionally mature yet. They’ll be able to get her to say anything if she thinks her mom is going to get in trouble. It’s a pathetic attempt on thier part.
