Will You Buy An iPhone Survey

I’ve deliberately not written about the iPhone over the last couple of days as I don’t think the amount of hype is justified. However, I am going to post the results of a iPhone survey that Read/WriteWeb have been running.

Out of 845 readers who were asked whether or not they were going to buy an iPhone, 19% said yes and 22% said they would wait a few months then buy one. Those are big numbers, when you consider how many handsets the iPhone has to compete against to be the object of desire.

It looks like the Apple branding machine is going to win through again, and Apple has once again managed to capture the public’s imagination in a product area where they didn’t have first mover advantage like the iPod. I guess Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola to a lesser extent have only got themselves to blame for not pitching their handsets correctly over the last couple of years.

If you’re wondering how I voted, I went for ‘I’ll never buy one!’. The lack of 3G and proper keys for texting make the iPhone a no-go for me.

I won’t buy one either. Sure, it has a nice interface and design but I think it is not living up to the hype at all. I will get a new Nokia (or Samsung) in the next months instead.

I won’t buy because my area don’t sell this item. Too remote for iphone to reach my town! ;p

I think it will take alot of time. As apple to improve the technology and add more features to the phone to compete.

Even if it reaches Asia, it is good only for people who make only phone calls and not really good for people who send lot of Texts. As the keypad is on the screen people feel difficuilt in typing in something. Studients in India would hate this for one good reason.
