How Much Is Your Domain Name Worth

I spotted a post over on Listikal’s site yesterday discussing a free domain name valuation service from LeapFish.com.

I was curious to see how much one of my domains would be worth, as I’m not using it at the moment but it still has a PR of 4. I was a bit shocked to see that it was only ‘worth’ $21. For comparison, Connected Internet came out at $3,264.

Probably not a very accurate tool, but possibly a good way to get a quick price for any of your dormant domains.

  • Thanks for the link Ev. Like I said, hard telling how they are evaluating your site, but I doubt it's all that different then let's say a Technorati.
  • Everton,
    What is that domain name?
I think Leap fish takes into account the domain name also, I mean it checks if it has '-' or .com or .net etc. I'm not very sure about this, but read in another blog.
  • I think it also checks if it's a top level domain and how long the name is, and the domain's age.
  • Wooohooo! My ex-blog, a rubbishy old PR4 site is worth $2,178!!!

I'm off to Digital Point to post an ad:-)))))))))))))))))
  • It is worthless ...
  • May be the '7' in the domain name reduced the value. :D
  • Nice my blog is valued at $170498,00
  • that tool is just a fake thing
    i typed some random dfhlahf.com
and it says its worth $60
  • My zath address is apparently only worth $91 - hardly worth renewing then eh? ;)

And yet my simonbarker.com which has only ever been used as a forwarding domain so far and is supposedly worth $741 - must be the age since I've had it since 2000.
