WoW Arrested For Trying To Abduct Her 17 Year Old Boyfrind
31 year old Tamara Broome has been arrested and charged with child abduction charges after flying from Australia to America to take her 17 year old ‘boyfriend’ who she’d met on World of Warcraft, back to Australia with her. Apparently they’d been having an online affair for a year and were planning on getting married. However, under North Carolina law a minor is anyone under the age of 18.
I don’t know how I would cope if I had kids as there are so many ways they can get into trouble on the internet. I think I’ll probably have to install keyloggers or something on their PCs, and confiscate their mobiles.
Have you ever met someone offline that you met online, and been shocked to learn that they weren’t anything like the person they claimed to be?

That is kind of scary from a parent’s point of view. My oldest is 13 and so far he’s been responsible but I agree that there a ton of ways to get in trouble on the net. Heh keyloggers .. I actually thought of that too.

Love is blind ? do u belive in love i really do. I didnt married yet but i am planning to marry a gal who is 3 years elder then me. If they love each other than she should wait till her Bf will 18yrs. She didnt addictied her in my opinion if she want the boy for sex she can find so many in her local community why travel aus to amercia or america to australia.
for me love has no bounderies and if they both love each other and want spend the rest of life together then they have to wait for the time to come. i.e. wait for another year till boy be 18.
Just my own opinion.

Interesting how online chat can really go this far. I used to watch NBC’s dateline and they feature a lot of online sexual predators. You’ll be amaze the diversity of those poeple: software engineers, doctors, military men, repeat offenders, etc.

Most of the people I have met in real life after meeting them online have been pretty close to what they have portrayed. But, those have mostly been regular freindships.
I’m paranoid, though, about the types of people my daughter might one day meet online. You can bet I will indeed spy on her online activity and I will feel zero guilt in doing so.

Well, if she travelled all the way from Australia to meet this boy. It’s obvious that she feels love for him. She’s a university student, they don’t really have a lot of financial resources. Besides, it’s not really that cheap to travel from Australia to America. ( $2996 Roundtrip ) I don’t think she would spend all this time and money just to perpetually kidnap somebody or sleep with them. Other stories that I have concerning this issue says that she was believed to be set up by the boys parents.
I think this is completely unfair to her. Apparently she is now sleeping on the floor of a Jail Cell in a country that’s not even her own. I think all of this is completely unjustifed. They are using her for publicity and make it seem like online gaming is very taboo and it’s a place where creepy internet stalkers hang out.
They should just ship her back home instead of holding her for something that was allegedly a set-up.
