July Mid-Term Traffic & Earnings Report - Are You Winning Or Losing?
In last month’s earnings report I predicted that my traffic and site earnings were going to fall this month as people spend less time online and advertisers spend less as a result.
So far, I’ve actually managed to maintain my traffic despite not really posting for the first week of the month. However, my earnings have taken a big hit so far this month:
- Google CTR constant, but eCPM down 25%
- intellitxt clicks per day up 6%, but revenue per click down 6% as well
- feedburner FAN ad impressions down 50%
- Tribalfusion average CPM down 23%
- no direct ad sales so far this month or ReviewMe/Sponsored Reviews
The only area where I’m winning is with Text Link Ads sales where I’ve sold a handful of links this month. How are you faring?

Have you noticed a steady decline in your Adsense CTR over the couple of months? Across the board my sites are slipping even though I have not made any significant changes.

it’s been up and down over the last couple of months, but this month there’s been a huge drop

Predicted a 50% drop for this month. It’s real bad, much worse than I have expect. I meant AdSense only though. Catching up with a few more sponsored post this month.
Comment by Everton on 12 July 2007:
50% is painful. I’ve managed to stem my losses a bit over the last couple of days, but I’m still down

Everton so Far my earning are up and down as well so far 20% drop.

I think a factor is the styling of the “Ads by Google” in the bottom right. The ads aren’t blending as well as they have in the past.

Everton,
Question regarding TLA. Do you do your own approving? I cannot get any offers from them? Is a PR of 5+ that important?
Comment by Everton on 12 July 2007:
@listikal
I don’t know why I do so well with TLA, and yes I do approve all my links. No matter how high I raise my price they always sell out within days.
I have a sneaky feeling it’s because I’m one of the highest .co.uk domains based on Alexa rank, which is one of TLA’s categories.
I also that TLA include my site in quotes becuase of it’s popularity and .co.uk domain, which must come in handy for a link building strategy.
