Friday Fun: Crazy Backflip Videos
When I was growing up in Nottingham there used to be an old railway bridge that overlooked an approx 100ft drop, and one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen was when one of my brother’s friends who was a gymnast did a handstand over the drop.
However, some of these backflip videos I discovered via a Digg post are just as insane. What gets me about stunts like these is not so much the nerve it takes to perform them, but how on earth do you practice or do it the first time?
And finally a great Chase Armitage video:

In a weird way it’s probably easier doing a backflip from a height than jumping, as the body is already rotating so it’s easier to keep rolling and apply the impact force for longer

That is crazy. I’ve heard of people saying they could do this sort of thing but I’ve never actually seen anyone do a backflip from that height. I’d break my foot if i tried!
