BT Vision have just launched the pricing for their BT Vision Sports service. BT Broadband users will be able to watch near live action from 242 Premier League games (75% of games) for just £4 a month, and 46 live Premiership games for an extra £9.99.
If customers want both packages, then they are available for £12 a month.  I think this pricing is brilliant as Sky have had their way for far too long with sports packages.
I was worried that watching football would be too expensive if subscribers had to pay for two sports services for the first time, but I think the BT Vision Sport pricing is very smart. I would be willingly to pay £4 a month for near-live coverage (games are available from 10pm on matchday). BT Vision also comes with a inbuilt PVR, so you can also record games to watch them when you want.
The pricing for the live games is very good as well, at £9.99-12 per month as opposed to the £16.50 per month I currently pay Virgin Media for the Sky Sports channels. Admittedly, the Sky Sports channels have other events like Copa America and Champions league games.
I’m seriously contemplating getting BT Broadband now as the inclusive BT Talk service has some of the lowest international rates around, and I’ve had enough of the poor customer service and speed capping from Virgin Media. This would allow me to get a BT Vision box with no additional subscription charges other than £4 per month for the BT Vision Sport subscription. I think I’ll keep my Virgin Media TV service though so that I can get the Sky Sports channels as well.
