I think there’s another Google PageRank update around the corner, so I’ve just plugged my urls into the Google PageRank prediction tool that I’ve found to be fairly accurate. At the moment it’s saying that this blog’s url will stay at PageRank 6, but that my directory (PR5), forum (PR5) and other site (PR4) will all go up to PageRank 6.
I hope that my directory does hit PageRank 6 as this will make it even more attractive to sites. I’m already getting a slow trickle of people who realise that there aren’t many other places where you can get a link from a PR5 site for only $20 a year. It will also help me sell the final links available on my directory and forum, so it could be worth a few extra hundred dollars a month.
I’m not surprised that my site isn’t going up to a PR7 as I haven’t worked on creating links over the last quarter. Plus, the recent changes to the WordPress Theme Viewer, including the removal of sponsored themes last week, has killed my main source of links. I also think the threshold that has to be crossed to get a PR7 is very high, as only the biggest blogs seem to be given PageRank 7.
Are you expecting a PageRank update?
