YoYo Games: How To Create And Share Your Own PC Games
Are you addicted to PC games? Did you ever wanted to create you own PC game, but have no clue about programming? Well, if so, you have arrived to the right place.
YoYo Games is a social network that allows its members not only to download play free PC games, but also to create their own custom made PC games and share them with their network peers.
Games are developed using and easy-to-use framework named Gamemaker 7.0. The cool thing about Gamemaker is that it’s based on drag and drop actions, and thus it actually allows you to create a basic PC game without writing a single line of code.
Once you become a more seasoned game maker, you can buy Gamemaker 7.0 fro 20$, and be able to develop more sophisticated games. This will require you to acquire some relatively basic programming skills.
Gamemaker’s installation is straightforward. Minimum system requirements are:
- A Windows operating system (works like a charm on Vista)
- 50 MB of disk space.
- high color, 16-bit).
- at least 800×600 screen resolution.
- a 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 8 or higher and with at least 32 MB of video memory is required.
- DirectX 8 or higher installed (will normally come installed with Windows)
After installing Gamemaker, browse the easy to follow Game makers section and go over the Help contents, it will help you to get started in minutes.
Although the games you can make won’t be highly sophisticated, i think the the entire process can be both challenging and entertaining. The ideal weekend project for gaming geeks
