A Quick Look At The Simpsons Video Game
With The Simpsons Movie premiere just around the corner, a video game and a lot of different merchandise usually follows right after (think Star Wars).
The last few years have been good for us Simpsons gamer fans. The Simpsons: Hit and Run was a huge success and is always playable and thank you for that. A lot video games made after a movie get lousy critics, Superman Returns, Spiderman 3 and The Transformers are all great movies, but poorly made video games. I think EA (Electronic Arts) has found the recipe - Don’t make the video game a copy of the movie. The Simpsons Video Game has nothing to do with The Simpsons Movie, except, of course, it is set in the same world and with the same characters
The first thing you’ll notice about The Simpsons Game when looking at demos and screen shots is its art style. Character models and background artwork are incredibly true to the television series and distinctly “Simpsons”.
The Simpsons Game is essentially a beat-’em-up that offers four playable characters in Bart, Lisa, Homer, and Marge -no sign of Maggie. Each has his or her own specific special ability, with Bart able to transform into Bartman, and Homer into a giant ball of rolling fat (you can also find a special chili, some might also remember the Insanity Chili in the episode “El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer“). Lisa has both her saxophone attacks and the Hand of Buddha, which ironically can be used to drop heavy objects on your foes, but is also required to solve more Zen-like environmental puzzles.
Two Simpsons family characters appear onscreen at any given time, you can swap between them to complete objectives. It can also be played as co-op with a friend, taking control of the unused character.
Audio plays a huge role in the game, and having the show’s writers as well as the original voice cast involved adds the authentic Simpsons flavour to the mix. According to several rumours there are about 13 hours of single-player action and more than 1 hour of cutscenes in the game.
Of course there is a special treat for the Nintendo Wii owners. You can use your Wii-mote in the mini games. For instance as a spoon in the pie eating contest.
The Simpsons Game will be available for Xbox360, Nintendo Wii and DS, PS3, PS2, PSP and PC (and apparently also a lot of other platforms including Amiga and Sega. See the trailer for details). There is no official release date yet.

I’m not sure I agree with you on that k-net. The demo shows some real Simpsons graphic. I think it looks pretty good and real.

The graphic looks terrible, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers most likely don’t like it..
