Football Manager 2008 - A First Look
SI Games recently announced that Football Manager 2008 will be available before Christmas 2007. Based on the huge success with the “FIFA 2008 A First Look” article, you are in for a real treat here
With over 5,000 playable teams from over 50 countries, FM 2008 has a bunch of new and updated features:
- Improved match flow - No more pausing to make tactical changes, don’t worry a mini-radar will keep you updated on whats happening on the pitch
- Easier to use - A new and improved skin with better button positioning, an advisor to help newbies, coach reports will help you take over a new team and a calendar with all the important dates throughout the season.
- Confidence - Players will now know what the supporters and board room think of their performance.
- Transfer Centre - Its now easier to manage your transfers and compare, reject and accept bids.
- New awards - The Europeans Golden Boot can now be awarded and a “best eleven”, which shows the all-time (in game) best eleven for all teams and nations.
- Finance overhaul - Accountants rejoice! Its now possible to change the various budgets, move funds from the transfer budget to the salary budget, improved sponsorships, investment funds, season ticket news and win bonuses.
- Improved feedback - Arrange fan days to boost attendance and use the media to your advantage.
- FASTER! - Saving and loading will now be faster (Thank you!), faster network gaming (THANK YOU!) and quicker match reports (You get the point).
As always to keep you updated, I’ve created a site, which has a striking resemblance to another site of mine (www.fifa2008news.com), called Football Manager 2008 News or fm2008news.com, where you get all the juicy details, including more screen shots and an analysis of some of the screens.
There is no Xbox360 version announced yet. FM 2008 is only for Windows XP/Vista machines and Mac. For now at least.
