Show Me Your Desktop, Arpit Jacob
The “Show Me Your Desktop” interview series continues. If you missed last week’s interview with David Airey remember
to read that one. David has a great tips about cleaning your computer?!
This week I’ve interviewed Arpit Jacob from Clazh.com. You might already recognise the name from my blogroll. I’m proud to say that I’ve known Arpit for some time now. He is my Wordpress Theme Go-To-Guy. If I find a theme for my site, I usually run it by Arpit first. He has a good eye for blog design, actually he is so good that he recently won the Sandbox Theme Design Contest with his theme Sandpress.
You can read the interview with Arpit on The Beta News.
Again I’ve asked a bonus question. I’ll not reveal everything here, but I can tell you that Arpit isn’t a fan of iTunes.
What is your favourite program?
Windows Live Writer, Firefox and RSS Bandit
Which program is the worst?
iTunes=Bloatware
So do you agree with Arpit? Is iTunes bloatware? Are Windows Media Player or VLC a better alternative? I remember when Winamp was the only program that could play Mp3s, but I haven’t used that in many years. ‘
As always the rest of the interview is available on The Beta News.
Next week it’s Leon Ho from lifehack.org’s turn to “Show Me Your Desktop”.

I heard iTunes is worst but never use/try iTunes cause I don’t own an iPod. I’m still using Winamp for MP3s, and realplayer for movies.

Would you look at that? I was just thinking of your next interview and here it is. Time to hop over there.
Comment by Nirmal on 20 August 2007:
His themes are really superb ones. He has great web designing skills.
Comment by Amish on 20 August 2007:
I have heard bad reviews of iTunes. IMO VLC totally rocks. Its the best player and plays almost any format under the sun. And yes Firefox would be in my top 3 programs as well.
Comment by Luke on 20 August 2007:
The only thing I use iTunes for is putting songs onto my iPod.
Windows Media Player for everything else
Comment by Arpit Jacob on 20 August 2007:
thanks nirmal :). wow I didn’t think there were people who would agree with me about iTunes Personally I felt I was being a bit to harsh on it
Comment by A. Adam on 20 August 2007:
Windows Media Player is still the best option as far as I’m concerned. Despite negative feedback, especially from the tech savvy, Microsoft is the best software company out there, period.
Comment by Everton on 20 August 2007:
I ‘hate’ iTunes as well, as you’re right it is far too bloated and contains so much crap I don’t use e.g. I don’t use the store, I don’t need coverflow, podcasts etc
I am stuck to it because of my iPod and I would gladly ditch it in an instant if I could find a way to sync all my ratings, playlists, playcounts and artwork to my iPod via another app
Comment by Everton on 20 August 2007:
btw Dennis where’s the link to Arpit’s interview?? Just can’t get decent help these days…..;-)
Comment by Dennis Bjørn Petersen on 20 August 2007:
Argh… Bonk@ me. How could I forget that.
Yeah you’ll get your money back for that one Everton =P or put it on my tab.
