Feedback On Better Alexa Redirect Plugin
A couple of people asked me to give feedback on my experiences with the Better Alexa Redirect Plugin. I’ve just turned the plugin off after letting it run for a few days and seeing no change in my Alexa Rank.
I’ve also turned it off, after reading Harishankar’s important comment:
I am afraid on another thing now. This plugin as I understand gives different URL to the user but not Google, which is strongly agains googles scope. When a page shows different content to crawlers and real users google penalizes that site, as of I know. A strong proof, I read that a famous new site which was within 5000 in alexa was penalized for hiding some text from user but showing it to crawlers. Can some one give me clear detail on this?
I think that Harishankar is correct, as in Google’s eyes displaying one url and actually linking to another is bad behaviour as it is normally a sign that a site is trying to hide something. So, if you are considering using the Alexa Redirect Plugin I wouldn’t because:
- Alexa Redirects don’t work
- You’ll probably end up in Google’s bad books

I agree with Loredan, pleasing Alexa doesn’t necessarily mean you’re pleasing Google. Stick to what google prescribes. Besides, there are other websites like Mybloglog who doesn’t allow this kind of plugins.
