I agree with Loredan, pleasing Alexa doesn’t necessarily mean you’re pleasing Google. Stick to what google prescribes. Besides, there are other websites like Mybloglog who doesn’t allow this kind of plugins.

May be a decent way to improve your site rank on alexa would be to add their gadget in some corner of your site. And you must atleast wait for more than 10 days if your site it not within 100,000 ranks… Alexa doesnt update ranks in any regular timing. sometimes it take months sometimes as fast as 2 days.

It was never supposed to work. If we truly understand spiders or crawlers they will read links which includes alexa redirect link and your links will not be benefited. Even the product manager of Alexa toolbar said they dont calculate by any other ways than toolbar.

It is much better to follow Google’s ways than to please Alexa. I would honestly love to see a comment coming from the plugin creator on this matter!
