Mobiles Account For 1/3 Of All Phone Usage In The UK
According to a report from UK phone regulator Ofcom, calls made from mobiles now account for more than a third of all time spent on the phone. 9% of UK households rely solely on mobiles, compare to 7% who only have a fixed line phone.
I’m surprised that only 9% of the UK rely solely on mobiles, although I expect that number to grow dramatically as the ‘texting’ generation move out of their parents homes. I rely almost exclusively on my mobile phone. I only have a fixed line (well VoIP) at home to call my parents who live overseas, and for them to call me. The only other numbers I call from my home phone are 0870, 0845 and 0800 numbers as these are quite expensive or not free with T-Mobile.
Do you use your mobile exclusively, or do you still have a fixed line at home?

Yes, many people complain that they can’t call
0800 numbers like it described here smart-numbers.net for free from mobiles and now that they can’t call for good prices from landlines. But actually it’s possible to combine all disadvantages - to call from land line to 0800 numbers and similar numbers and the other calls you can make from your mobile.
