Wii Fastest Selling Console Ever In The UK

Chart Track in the UK claim that the Wii has sold 1m units in the UK faster than any other new console, taking only 38 weeks since it’s launch in Dec 2006.  In comparison the PS2 took 50 weeks and the Xbox 360 took 60 weeks.

I don’t know why but a Wii has never appealed to me.  Maybe because I only like certain types of games like Halo 3 which will finally be launched in the UK on September 26th, a day after Halo 3’s US launch.

I’m so eager to get my teeth stuck into the Halo 3 that I nearly took the 26th off just to play the game.  It was a close call, but because I’m out of the office for the whole week before that in San Francisco and because I’ve already booked the 24th and 25th Sept to get some work done on my new car, I thought I’d be taking the mick a bit taking another day just to play a video game!

If you’re going to be picking up a copy of Halo 3 that week then don’t forget to add TooMuchi San to your Xbox Live buddy lists.

   It doesn’t surprise me the Wii did so well - it appeals to everyone not just the hardcore of gamers. I went to an auntie’s house the other day to find her on Wii Sports bowling in her front room!

   Its not a turn up for the books. I was playing on the WII the other night and find it much more entertaining and with the WII are £179 in the UK and the XBOX almost £300 is there any wounder that the WII is on top

   A friend put it nicely - XBox and PS target the hard core who would probably buy the consoles anyway. It’s all about better graphics, faster processors *yawn*. Nintendo just make fun games.
