Please No Anchor Text In Comment Names
Just a friendly reminder to readers to please use real names in comment names and not anchor text. I think I’m being generous enough by following comments, so please don’t take advantage of my kindness. I go through the comments every day or so and remove urls from any comments where I see anchor text, so in the long run, you won’t get any benefit from it.
I know that certain blogs have encouraged readers to do this, but I find it really annoying, particularly when I see people who quite clearly leave just enough ‘me too’, ‘great post’, ‘thanks!’ etc comments in one go in order to appear in the top commentators section, and then are never seen again.
Thanks
Everton

That blog spam is really a big problem, I tend to delete any comment that looks spammy.
Comment by Pablo on 8 September 2007:
well it’s not a bad idea to be honest.
But there are people that just come and dont care about your blog so they see the opportunity and spam

I think I was the catalyst for this, now I don’t have an anchortastic pseudonym to hide behind!

You reminded me Mathew to ask people to stop.

@Veronica aka Newpilates
Are you pulling my leg??!!
Comment by abhishek on 10 September 2007:
Well i can’t agree more.The blogs do use dofollow just as a contribution toward the commenter but the blog spammers really ruin the whole idea.The possible reason i think of some blogs not allowing dofollow is that they don’t want to moderate every comment.
Cheers
