StartUp Delayer: Speed Up Windows By Delaying Apps
I’m a speed freak. That’s why I ditched my Stove top for the microwave and dumped the Corona for the SiR i-Vtec.
Now Windows is one of those critters that seem to hate speeding up, no matter how much RAM I ram down its throat or how beefy the processor I slap on its rump. Darn.
Then I found out one reason: the OS loads scores and scores of apps and services at startup. Count em: almost 200+ nearly concurrently.
Inane. I can’t wash the dishes, answer the phone and mow the lawn at the same time. But MS programmers seem to think that a thrashing hard disc can do 200 tasks at the same time.
But there’s a cure. Check out StartUp Delayer. It literally delays stuff to speed things up. By delaying the launch of the 200+ buggers at, say, intervals of 20secs each, the OS can breathe a little better, and return control to you. I love this software so much (its free) and installed it in all 20 PCs I overlook.

can’t seem to download. The download link for all the files just redirects back to the same page in one big loop

Nevermind, went to SnapFiles to download it

Mosey over to betanews.com and kezfiles.com every2 days. You’ll get a high from all the free software that crops up.
None are crap either - unlike the commercial bloat you’d find at http://www.download.com

Is this the program you are talking about?

My computer speed is pretty good. I think if you install a good Ram speed your computer speed ought to increase. But, I’ll definitely try startup delayer to see the difference later in the day.

Yes, it does work- just alot 15 seconds before each startup. And delay the heavy progs like IQC, YM and itunes for last. Resource hoggers!
Let the first be McAffee or Norton. Can’t make out with your PC without electronic protection, right?

This seems a great piece of kit, installing right now…
