Blog Rush - Get Your Posts Promoted On Other Blogs
Blog Rush is a new Blog Syndication network that offers up the potential for getting your blog posts promoted on other blogs.
Once you’ve added the Blog Rush widget to your site promoting posts from other related blogs, then your posts will start appearing in widgets on other sites. For each impression of the widget on your site, one of your posts will be displayed once in another widget. You also get additional impressions based on the number of people you refer and how many times their widgets are displayed, and ten levels of referrals are offered.
I think Blog Rush is a well intentioned idea, but I’ve never had much joy from generating lots of clicks from sidebar units. Plus, even if I put the widget in a prominent place on my site, there’s no guarantee that the sites where my posts have been displayed have done the same. The problems with a 1-1 relationship is that because of the poor clickthrough rate, you are only going to see at best a 1-2% increase in your traffic.
Another reason why I’m not displaying the unit just yet is the lack of customisation options, as the widget can’t be tweaked to match my site design. If Blog Rush address these issues in beta, then I might give it another go then. For now, I’m just going to promote Blog Rush and see if I get can get any credits, as this seems to be the only way to generate decent levels of traffic.
If you are using Blog Rush already then let me know if you are seeing any significant new traffic.
Update: Looks like using Blog Rush could get you into trouble with Google Adsense because it is a ‘traffic exchange program‘ - beware!

I’ve also incorporated the widget into my site just this evening.
I’ve been doing research, and the plusses outweigh the negatives so far.
I’m going to keep up on this and see.

Blogrush has made a impact already and as for the customizations it will come very soon and i don’t think it will be long enough when we see the customizations out there to suit your blogs design and not hamper it.
I am happy to say that i visit quite a number of blogs everyday and they all have implemented it
Cheers
Abhishek

Like Brown, I’m currently undecided. I think over time if I hear that people are getting good traffic from it, I might go ahead and go with it but for me with my site, I’m trying to CUT DOWN on the stuff in my sidebars…not add more on.

I can’t see it being useful for the people that need it the most - those that want traffic to their little blog, I give 7 reasons why I don’t like it on my blog and it. It’s nice to see someone else has similar points about it

I DON’T think it violates Google’s AdSense program.
I believe what Google means by “third-party services such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, and click-exchange programs” is programs like 126hits.com — where traffic is generated automatically by just entering a url in your browser and letting it surf automatically between sites. You then earn credits, which is then used up to display your site — also automatically. This is fake traffic, meaning the majority of suers don’t even notice your site.
The other paid-to programs are similar where users get paid in pennies or credits to visit a site.
Blog Rush is simply a link exchange program, which many people do use to build up links.
