Monday Blues Shocker- Kill Your Website Now!
Over the weekend I stumbled across a site that shocked the bejeebers out of me. Digital Point forumers buzzed about a google exploit manipulated at the rouge website, Kill the Competition.
Apparently some hackers discovered an exploit in Google’s algorithm that has been known for over a year, allowing you to remove URLs from Google’s search results. Allegedly, google thus far has chosen to do nothing about it. This mortifying site automates the process.
Allegedly.
Now before you read the rest of this post, satisfy your curiosity and quickly swing by their site here:

Okay. Now that you saw it, I’m venturing a guess that your heart constricted. Imagine what that bomb would do in the grubby paws of your competitors. All those 100,000 pages deindexed. Bam. Just like that! Would google allow such a thing?
I researched the web and soon discovered that the site was a hoax with webmasters even testing the exploit on disposable sites. It didn’t work - so stop hovering over the attack button, okay? Now,this all leads me to wonder what exactly the hoaxter is after. What’s in it for him? Is he matching IP addresses of attackers with target websites so he can blackmail the attackers? Or does he just desire to throw extra dollars at costly hosting.
Have a shocking monday!

It would be interesting if he posted a page in a couple of months with a list of the IPs and websites targeted. I bet a LOT of the amateur SEOs at Digital Point fall/fell for this.

It’s certainly one way to get buzz and a lot of inbound links to a his domain…

i don’t think google will take it lying down if the algorithm is at stake

ok, now I tried this tool for Google’s website and the tool’s own site itself.

Yes, maybe he will redirect to a new domain or change the content after he picks up a ton of links?
