LinkedIn Hit 1m Users In The UK
LinkedIn have just hit 1m users in the UK, which is very impressive for a professional networking service when you consider that the population of the UK is 60m and the whole workforce is just over 3om.
I’ve just received an invite to attend a party in London to celebrate this achievement in an official capacity, and I think I’m going to attend out of curiosity to see who else they’ve invited. The invite claims that:
LinkedIn users represent every industry and profession, from entrepreneur to FTSE 100 executive, so it’s sure to be an interesting crowd. We’re looking forward to an evening with a relaxed atmosphere, a few drinks, some food and good company.
The CEO of LinkedIn, Dan Nye, will be there so I might get an opportunity to ask him some questions about where LinkedIn will be heading in the future. If you coud attend, what question would you put forward? An obvious one would be how do they intend to combat Facebook’s ability to manage multiple personal and professional network and relationships concurrently.

Not a huge fan of LinkedIn. I guess I just find it annoying when I get reminders everyday from people I don’t want contacting me anymore.

I’ve not done a great deal with LinkedIn, I’ve got my job details and skills up there, but have barely touched it since I signed up and only have around 5 contacts.
Is it a good way of networking in your professional life? Has anyone gained a great deal from it?

One million users in the UK? Hmmm… how many people live in the UK? I don’t think this is truth.
