Latest New Site Design Screenshot

I think this will be the last screenshot before my designer starts coding, so please leave your feedback now or forever keep your peace!

Apart from the site logo and sitename, I think we are almost there and my remaining issues can be dealt with on a live site.

Let me know what you think:

Eureka Theme #6

The areas I would like to play with are:

  • Colours, particularly the yellow links as I’m a big fan of blue links
  • The colour block under each post - maybe replace with a line/border?
  • Making the links in the header nav stand out more

What do you think of the progress so far? Any suggestions for improvements?

I was wondering if you however need someone to code your design?

    i think that’s ok.

I don’t know. I got an update from my designer this morning (I think you got a copy via email vincent - it’s here if anyone else is interested) which I think is very close to the final version. Once we’ve agreed the main template, we need to work on single.php which I’m hoping will be faster as all the heavy lifting will have been done.

My designer then needs to turn the design into a theme and I’m hoping that this won’t take too long, so that we all start testing a live site. My guess is two weeks - not quite the week that I was quoted on GAF, but I’m happy we’ve taken our time over this as I think the theme is going to be even better than I’d originally hoped.

    When will it go live?

Thanks Shashank. It’s taking a long time to build, but I think the designer is doing a good job and it’s definitely looking like money well spent. Hopefully soon they’ll be a live version so we can start testing

Really the new theme is looking simple, beautiful and the colour combination is perfect.

The current theme has been in place for about 10 months, which is a record. I used to pick an existing theme and tweak it, but it’s definitely more fun starting from scratch.
