Have You Signed Up With TNX Yet?
Last month I joined TNX in the hope that it would supplement the record Blog Earnings I had in September. If you missed my review last month, then read this post that explains in detail how TNX works and how it can help you further monetise your website.
I had high hopes for TNX not only because of the simple way in which it allows publishers and webmasters to buy and sell links, but also because of the generous referral scheme.
So far the results have been mixed. The main disappointment is because it appears that only a quarter of the people I’ve referred have actually added the TNX code. If you haven’t added the code yet, then please do so as soon as possible as you won’t start earning until you do!
If you haven’t joined TNX yet, you should really give it a go, particularly if you are not doing very well selling links via other schemes. Unlike other networks where advertisers tend to spend their money with the high profile sites, TNX shares the wealth and advertisers are actively encouraged to buy links on a variety of sites, even those with low Page Ranks.

Dave, we have Live Support, perhaps you didn’t see the link.
It looks like you are very concerned where your pages link to.
This week we are introducing a new feature, which will make it possible for a webmaster to manually choose a relevant text link (from a list of 150 orders) for each page of the website.

@dave
my ‘discreet’ place is at the bottom of ‘Useful Links’ in the sidebar

I have signed TNX as an advertiser. Their service is pretty cool when I tested it. Now, The problem is that their category li8st is very small and I just cannot think where my ads can be better placed and make it worth. They should better make it targeted ads like Google. Any site that publish ads should be crawled and ads should be placed accordingly. If this doesnt work or I know this needs much more investment for them, They should go for keyword based categories.

Follow-up: Sorry to clutter the comments, Everton. I figured out the error, and now actually had links appear. OMG what tripe they are presenting! Talk about “links to spammy neighborhoods” … sad to see. I find that their support system is also sorely lacking … and removing their code will result in “permanent banning” … oh well …
Maybe the next offering will be the one …

Hmmm,
Everton, please share that “very discreet” place you have put your TNX ads, or put some in a visible place. I am one of those you initially referred who “have” placed the code on their site(s) and have seen nothing whatever happen. My account page on TNX.net indicates I am receiving visitors, yet … so far as I know … no ads have ever shown. Where, if ever, do they show up here on on some other sire that you are using them on?
I wrote directly to TNX and got back a snippy replay that said … quote … “you haven’t read our website.”
I’ve seen you do well with other promos before and jumped right in on this one … but I’m sure I’m producing little or nothing for you or me … it’s not a matter of not putting code on my site, it may be a mistake on my part, not addressing the mistake certainly won’t make anyone any money.

I join to TNX but on the other end for receive links to my sites. And want to say it not bad - after 10 days organic traffic increase about on 20%.

TNX looks pretty interesting. Sounds like a bigger percentage they give you - more than TLA.
Yeah, I was wondering abou the video campaign. I know it wasn’t Youtube’s new program. Sounds like videos are ok, but not so great.

I haven’t sold as many links on my own pages as I would have liked to, but the performance has been ok in my view. I haven’t been concerned about the low price for PR0 pages because (i) I still see this as incremental money as it’s not limiting my ability to sell other advertising (ii) it’s not disturbing my readers as I’ve added the ads in a very discreet place. I might follow your lead and delete the PR0 links, but this would give me one more thing to manage and there are only so many hours in the day.
As to the Google penalising webmasters who are selling links, I will deal with this if and when it happens, and sites that have been penalised have managed to get their ranks reinstated by removing the links. Even though I am very dependant on Google for traffic, I’m not happy about being bulllied.
The video ad campaign finished so I removed it - it made around $200, not brilliant, but ok as it didn’t seem to affect the performance of other ads.

I have joined tnx two weeks ago I think and they gave me 20,000 free points at one webmaster forums. Since I have installed the code I’ve made around 10,000 points on a single website…. not much but it makes me happy…

Everton please write more about your results please. I’m missing that part in your article. I have mixed feelings as well due to two reasons.
First, Google is after webmasters who are selling links that do not have the nofollow attribute which could become a huge problem for services like Text Link Ads and TNX.
The second one is even more troubling in my opinion. I have currently about 2200 article pages in my blog, many of them PR0 because of the missing PR-update. A PR0 page earns me 7.5 points which is 5 cents if you convert it.
This is not acceptable and I consequently delete all PR0 links.
Another factor is that the categories are to general. If you add your software blog for instance it will be placed in the software and music category which means that you could get a lot of music advertisement on your blog.
They should create more categories and offer webmasters a way to block certain Pageranks from being sold to advertisers.
I will keep a close look but at the moment I will probably stop using them pretty soon. Made 70000 points so far.
Could you tell me what happened to your video ads and how they performed ? Please send me a mail
