Have You Added Your Site To The Connected Directory Yet?

Connected Internet Directory

I launched the Connected Internet Directory in February and I’ve been very happy with the success, considering it only took me an hour to create. The directory now has a Page Rank of 5 and contains over 1400 links with more added daily. The directory (and the forum) will be getting a redesign to match the next site ‘Eureka’ theme once it is completed.

Featured links are available for only $20/year which give guaranteed premium placement, which is a fantastic deal for a link from a Page Rank 5 site. Free links are also available, but without the premium positioning.

    Yeah, more and more big names have fallen because of text link sales. I feel lousy investing in Aviva and Directory Dump last year. Once PR6, they’re now zilch.

    I noticed this blog actively promoting TLA? Perhaps plugging in a no-follow tag next to it can help avert the eye of mighty google. I’ve done this to the TLA banner on my site. Just in case.

    Nothing other than posts like this. It took as long as Google took to do a PR update - who knows how long that is these days. Can you please use a real name on your next comment

    Wow… great. I am thinking of setting up a directory as well. How long did it take you to have a PR5 from scratch? How did you promote the directory? Can you share a bit of your directory success?

    @Niall

    Selling no-follow/guaranteed links might be a good idea for protecting myself against the wrath of Google. I only sell a handful a month, so the impact will be minimal if the sales dry up. One to think about.

    Hello,

    Your directory is in very real danger of having it’s page rank reduced or removed completely. The fact that you are selling guaranteed placement on the directory is classed as selling links by Google. Google are not saying don’t sell links, that’s your choice, what they don’t want you to do is sell links that pass page rank because that messes up their system. You should stop the paid links from your directory passing page rank by adding rel=nofollow to all those links. Unfortunately if you do that though you will find a hell of a lot less people will want to buy those paid links from you.

    In a nutshell it is perfectly fine to sell links as long as they do not pass page rank and you clearly state on your website that the links have been paid for. Anything less than this will get you into trouble with the big G.

    Cheers

    Yes, that’s right: When I click “Submit” the error message appears next to the field “Reciprocal Link”, where I’ve put in my Blog URL.
