Pre-Register With Next2Friends And Win An iPod Touch Or A Dell Laptop

Next2Friends

Next2Friends have approached me to write a series of posts to introduce their exciting new service.

The service isn’t quite open for business yet, but it is running a pre-launch competition where two lucky winner will win a Dell laptop or an iPod Touch each month. Founding members will receive additional benefits once the site goes live:

  • Eligible to receive more cash and rewards
  • First to experience Next2Friends new services
  • First dibs on the best account names

The Next2Friends service promises to offer:

The service does promise to bring the virtual social networking world more tangible and intrinsic valuable by integrating the mobile platform with proven social web services

I can hear some of you groaning ‘Oh no, not another social networking site’, but I think that there is still plenty of room in the market for another service, particularly if it brings something new to the market. You only have to look at how quickly Facebook has grown in the UK from nothing to one of the most used sites in just under six months to see that this is possible.

Next2Friends

Next2Friends are two months away from a live beta, so more will be revealed then, as well as in further posts on Connected Internet.

Adding mobility to social networking is in my opinion the future, and is an area where Facebook is not delivering. Yes, I can send twitter type alerts via my mobile and respond to certain alerts, but the Facebook mobile experience is pretty dull - I can’t even see pictures properly. If Next2Friends can introduce exciting mobile features, and an online presence that seamlessly spans across PC and mobiles, then I think they will have a good chance of being successful.

If you want to learn more about Next2Friends then you can also subscribe to the Next2Friends blog, that will in the future give more details of its proposition as well as discussing Social Networking and Mobile Technologies.

Next2Friends will do some things that aren’t currently being done with mobile technology. It’s pretty exciting stuff. I spend my days trying to find ways that our base is already covered and I can’t! Check it out!

From the website it just looks like different and more advanced ways to contact your friends. I am interested as they seem to be confident in the service but I wonder really how much or a social networking tool it will actually be?

I wish I could say more but I can’t, not until Beta is released this December 24th. Let’s just say that the social networking piece alone is different than anything out there. It’s not just about contacting friends in more advanced ways, it’s about doing things with those friends that you currently can’t do with mobile technology. And that doesn’t even take into account all the other applications it will have outside of social networking. I wish I could be more direct but all will be revealed soon. In the mean time, sign up for an account and you’ll be the first to know!
