Updated Broadband Speed Test

I try to keep my highly trafficked posts up to date and fresh, by reviewing every month or two.

One post I hadn’t been able to update as much as I would have liked was my Broadband Speed Test page, which gets tonnes of incoming traffic but unfortunately because it didn’t actually have a broadband speed test on the page, nearly all the visitors left straight away.

Well thanks to a random email I have finally managed to add a Broadband Speed Test to the page. So, if you are want to make sure your broadband ISP isn’t short changing you then head on over to the page.

Very revealing. My ISP promised me 2MBPs service but the broadband test tells me I’ve got 200kbps.

Time to write up a firey letter of complaint.

Now I’m more confused. Using this speed test revealed my broadband speed to be hovering around 4mbps. When I used speedtest.net I was presented with quite different data - an unfeasible 10mbps than on the BT Broadband Speed Test tool which recorded a speed of just over 5mbps - same pc, same phone number.
